VisitCIA Official Arrested in Cambodia Charged with Leaking Classified Israeli Plans to Retaliate Against Iran
Nov 13, 2024, 01:41 PM
Federal prosecutors have charged CIA official Asif W. Rahman with disclosing classified documents that appeared to show Israel's plans to retaliate against Iran for a missile attack earlier this year. Rahman, who held top-secret security clearance, was indicted last week in federal court in Virginia on two counts of willful retention and transmission of national defense information under the Espionage Act. He was arrested by the FBI on Tuesday in Cambodia, where he worked overseas for the agency, and was taken to a federal court in Guam to face charges.
