China Bans Exports of Gallium, Germanium, Antimony, and Superhard Materials to U.S.
Dec 3, 2024, 12:00 PM
China's Ministry of Commerce announced on Tuesday, December 3rd, that it will ban exports to the United States of gallium, germanium, antimony, and superhard materials with potential military applications. The ban, effective immediately, prohibits the export of these dual-use items to U.S. military users or for military purposes. Beijing will also impose stricter controls on the export of graphite and related products. This move comes in response to recent U.S. export controls on Chinese companies related to semiconductors and high-tech industries. The Chinese government cited national security concerns and aims to safeguard its national interests and fulfill international obligations.
