Oct 2, 2024, 05:50 PM
Microsoft has announced a significant investment of €4.3 billion ($4.75 billion) to expand its AI and cloud infrastructure in Italy. This investment, which is the largest Microsoft has made in Italy, aims to strengthen the company's AI capabilities and cloud capacity in the region. The announcement was made alongside Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni. Additionally, Microsoft has pledged to skill 1 million people in Italy as part of this initiative. This move is part of Microsoft's broader strategy to invest heavily in AI and cloud technologies globally, with the company also planning to spend $108 billion on data center leases for AI purposes, a 1500% increase from two years ago.
