Mexico's Sheinbaum Vows Retaliation After Trump's 25% Tariff Threat Starting January
Nov 26, 2024, 02:41 PM
Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum has responded to U.S. President-elect Donald Trump's announcement of imposing 25% tariffs on Mexican imports from the first day of his administration in January. During a press conference, Sheinbaum read the letter she plans to send to Trump, suggesting that Mexico could retaliate by imposing tariffs of its own on U.S. products. She stated that tariffs would not stop migration or drug trafficking and expressed that she has always shown willingness to help fight the fentanyl epidemic.
