China Imposes Anti-Dumping Duties up to 39% on EU Brandy Starting October 11 in Response to EU EV Tariffs
Oct 8, 2024, 07:40 AM
China's Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM) announced on Tuesday that it will impose temporary anti-dumping measures on brandy imported from the European Union (EU) starting October 11, in response to the EU's decision to impose tariffs on Chinese electric vehicles. Importers will be required to pay cash deposits ranging from 30.6% to 39% of the import value. The move is expected to escalate trade tensions between China and the EU. Preliminary findings indicated that EU brandy is being dumped in the Chinese market, posing a significant threat to China's domestic industry.
