Terrorist Attack on Indian Air Force/MES Convoy in Poonch Injures Five, Garud Forces Respond

On Saturday, a convoy of Indian Air Force or Military Engineering Services (MES) vehicles was attacked by terrorists in the Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir, resulting in injuries to five soldiers. The attack occurred in the Surankot area, involving heavy fire on two security vehicles. Following the incident, the injured personnel were airlifted to Command Hospital in Udhampur for treatment. The local Rashtriya Rifles unit, along with Indian Air Force Garud Special Forces, has initiated cordon and search operations in the area, and the vehicles have been secured inside the air base near Shahsitar. High-ranking military officials, including top army officers, have reportedly rushed to the site. Tight security checking is being conducted by Indian Army personnel in the area.
