MicroStrategy Launches 'MicroStrategy Orange' Decentralized ID on Bitcoin
May 1, 2024, 10:17 PM
MicroStrategy has announced the launch of a new decentralized identity platform called MicroStrategy Orange, which is built on the Bitcoin blockchain. This platform, as described by Michael Saylor, the Executive Chairman of MicroStrategy, aims to standardize digital identity verification globally using a new method known as the Bitcoin Inscription DID method (did:btc). This method leverages inscriptions in witness data to manage decentralized identities (DIDs), utilizing unspent transaction outputs (UTXOs) for control. The platform, which is open-source, is part of a broader initiative by MicroStrategy to integrate blockchain technology into enterprise solutions, including secure email systems through MS Outlook, and is built on top of the Ordinals Protocol.
