VisitMicron to Receive $6.1 Billion in U.S. Chips Act Grants for New Factories

Micron Technology, the largest U.S. maker of computer-memory chips, is set to receive $6.1 billion in grants from the U.S. Department of Commerce. The funding, part of the Chips Act, will support the construction of new semiconductor manufacturing facilities in New York and Idaho. The announcement of the grants, which also include additional loans similar to those received by TSMC and Intel, is expected to be made next week. President Biden is scheduled to visit the Syracuse, New York region on April 25 as part of the announcement.
