Matt Fallon set a new American record in the men's 200m breaststroke final with a time of 2:06.54, breaking the previous record held by Josh Prenot by nearly 0.6 seconds. Fallon, who had posted the second fastest time in American history during the semifinals with 2:07.39, will be heading to Paris for the Olympics. Josh Matheny secured the second place with a time of 2:08.86 and will also join Fallon in Paris. Matheny had previously finished in a heartbreaking third place in the 100 breast. Fallon's record-breaking performance marks the fastest time in the world for 2024.
