Martin Truex Jr. Announces Retirement from Full-Time NASCAR Racing After 2024 Season with 34 Wins

Martin Truex Jr., the 2017 NASCAR Cup Series champion, has announced his retirement from full-time competition at the end of the 2024 season. Truex Jr. made the announcement at Iowa Speedway, expressing his contentment with the decision and noting that it was time for him to make his own schedule. He will continue to be involved with Joe Gibbs Racing as an ambassador and may participate in part-time racing. Team owner Joe Gibbs acknowledged the significant loss for the team, stating he did everything he could to keep Truex Jr. on board. Truex Jr. has had an illustrious career with 34 NASCAR Cup Series wins and championships in both the Cup and Xfinity Series. With 20 races left in his career, Truex Jr. stated that he was the most nervous he had ever been making the announcement.
