Zach Cregger, the director of the 2022 horror hit 'Barbarian,' is set to write and direct a reboot of the 'Resident Evil' film franchise. The announcement has sparked an intense bidding war among four studios, including Warner Bros. and Netflix, marking it as the first major auction of 2025. Constantin Film, which has held the screen rights since the late 1990s, will produce the reboot alongside PlayStation Productions.
