Florida International University (FIU) has hired Willie Simmons as its new head football coach on a four-year deal, according to multiple sources. Simmons, who was previously the head coach at Florida A&M University (FAMU) from 2018 to 2023, compiled a record of 45-13 during his tenure there. Before joining FIU, he served as the running backs coach at Duke University. This move marks Simmons' return to head coaching in Florida, following his successful stint at FAMU and his earlier role at Prairie View A&M.
