Vivek Ramaswamy, a biotech entrepreneur who recently left President Donald Trump's Department of Government Efficiency, is preparing to launch a campaign for Ohio governor in the 2026 election. He has secured the support of Vice President JD Vance's top political advisers, including Andy Surabian and Jai Chabria, who will guide his campaign. Additionally, veterans from his 2024 presidential run, Ben Yoho, Michael Biundo, and Chris Grant, are also part of his team. Ramaswamy's move comes as he aims to succeed term-limited Governor Mike DeWine. His campaign has also received an endorsement from U.S. Senator Rick Scott of Florida, who praised Ramaswamy's focus on saving the country and his business acumen. Ramaswamy's decision to run for governor follows his unsuccessful bid for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination and his departure from the Department of Government Efficiency, where he worked alongside Elon Musk. Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost has also declared his candidacy for the GOP nomination.
