Sweden has announced it will cease funding the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA), as confirmed by Aid Minister Benjamin Dousa. The decision follows Israel's prohibition of the organization, which has been criticized by the Swedish government. Instead, Sweden plans to enhance its humanitarian assistance to Gaza through alternative channels. The government has allocated 800 million kronor to address the humanitarian crisis in Gaza and the surrounding region, while continuing support for several key humanitarian actors involved in the response efforts.
