Erdogan Inaugurates 564 Facilities Across 77 Cities, Projects 18 Billion Lira Economic Contribution

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan delivered a speech at the inauguration of 564 facilities completed by the General Directorate of State Hydraulic Works in Ankara, held at the Beştepe Millet Kongre and Cultural Center. Erdogan emphasized the importance of water conservation, stating that Turkey is not a water-rich country and faces water stress. He highlighted that mismanagement and pollution of water resources are significant threats and described clean water access as a critical issue. Erdogan stressed the impact of climate change on water resources, noting its adverse effects on both quantity and quality, as well as the increasing frequency and severity of natural disasters. He criticized opposition parties for neglecting water resource management and environmental preservation. Erdogan announced that the newly inaugurated facilities, spanning 77 cities, are expected to contribute 18 billion lira annually to Turkey's economy. He reiterated the government's commitment to achieving net-zero emissions by 2053 through initiatives like the 'Zero Waste Project' to prevent waste and use resources efficiently.
