TSA Screens Record 3.087 Million Passengers Sunday, Busiest Day in 23-Year History
Dec 2, 2024, 06:05 PM
The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) reported screening a record 3.087 million airline passengers on Sunday, December 1st, marking the busiest day in its 23-year history. This is only the second time TSA has screened over 3 million passengers in a single day, surpassing the previous record set on July 7th by approximately 74,000 travelers. The agency had anticipated a 6% increase in Thanksgiving week air travel over last year, consistent with 2024's trend of record-breaking travel numbers. Over the Thanksgiving holiday week, more than 31 million passengers flew across the United States.
