Additionally, Trump plans to speak with Russian President Vladimir Putin, aiming to end the ongoing conflict in Ukraine. Zelensky stressed the importance of meeting Trump before any discussions with Putin and mentioned ongoing talks about using Ukrainian underground gas storage sites to hold U.S. liquefied natural gas (LNG). Russia currently controls half of Ukraine's rare earth deposits, but less than 20% of its total mineral wealth.
