Browns Promote 32-Year-Old Tommy Rees, Former Notre Dame QB, to Offensive Coordinator
Jan 14, 2025, 06:45 PM
The Cleveland Browns have promoted tight ends coach Tommy Rees to offensive coordinator, sources report. Rees, 32, is considered a rising talent in coaching and becomes one of the NFL's youngest coordinators. A former Notre Dame star quarterback, Rees previously served as offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at Notre Dame and Alabama before joining Kevin Stefanski's staff last year. He took over play-calling for Notre Dame's bowl game in 2019. Head coach Stefanski views Rees highly, noting that he is on track to become an NFL head coach one day. The promotion reflects the respect Rees has earned within the organization, and the Browns are returning to Stefanski's offensive roots as they look to revamp their offense after struggles in the 2024 season. Rees is expected to bring fresh ideas and concepts from his college coaching experience.
