President Donald Trump, sworn in as the 47th president, has closed the Spanish-language version of the White House website and its social media accounts shortly after his inauguration, a move that echoes his actions during his first term in office. The website now displays a '404 Page Not Found' error, redirecting users to the English version with a button that initially read 'Go Home' before being changed to 'Go To Home Page'. This decision has drawn criticism, particularly from the Hispanic community, as it removes a resource that has been available since the administration of former President George W. Bush and was restored by President Joe Biden. The removal of the Spanish-language section coincides with Trump's signing of multiple executive orders aimed at reshaping immigration policies, including reviving priorities such as forcing asylum-seekers to wait in Mexico and completing the border wall. Additionally, Trump's administration has also removed the government's reproductive rights website and a section of the White House site that featured the U.S. Constitution. The Hispanic population remains the largest minority group in the U.S., and Spanish is the most common non-English language spoken in American homes.
