Dec 5, 2024, 08:29 AM
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has signed a decree enforcing sanctions against 19 Georgian officials, including Bidzina Ivanishvili, the founder of the ruling Georgian Dream party, and Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze. Zelensky accuses the Georgian government of pushing the country towards dependence on Russia and suppressing pro-European protests. The sanctions, prepared by the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, include blocking assets and suspending economic and financial obligations. Zelensky also called on European and other international partners to take decisive action against Moscow's influence in Georgia.
