Dec 11, 2024, 05:17 PM
Ryan Borgwardt, a 45-year-old man from Wisconsin, who staged his own drowning in August and fled to Eastern Europe, has voluntarily returned to the United States. Borgwardt, who left behind his wife and three children, was taken into custody in Wisconsin upon his return. Authorities noted that he came back on his own accord, motivated by his family. The Sheriff's office has not disclosed his exact whereabouts during his absence but confirmed his return via an airplane. Online records indicate that Borgwardt is now in police custody, with charges being referred against him. Sheriff Podoll thanked the community, federal authorities, and the media for their assistance in tracking down Borgwardt.
