New York Architect Rex Heuermann Charged with 2000 Murder of Valerie Mack in Gilgo Beach Case
Dec 17, 2024, 03:48 PM
Rex Heuermann, a New York architect accused in the Gilgo Beach serial killings, has been charged with a seventh murder. Heuermann is accused of killing Valerie Mack, a 24-year-old woman whose remains were first discovered in Manorville, New York, in 2000. Mack had been working as an escort in Philadelphia and was last seen by her family in New Jersey that year. More of her remains were found on Gilgo Beach over a decade later. Heuermann has pleaded not guilty to the new charge as well as the previous charges related to the deaths of six other women whose remains were found on Long Island. The investigation into the Gilgo Beach killings began in 2010 when police found multiple sets of human remains, leading to fears of a serial killer.
