The orders aim to eliminate what the administration describes as 'immense public waste and shameful discrimination.' Petro's memo to employees stated that these programs 'divided Americans by race, wasted taxpayer dollars, and resulted in shameful discrimination.' The memo also warned employees against attempts to disguise DEIA programs, offering a 10-day amnesty period for reporting such efforts, with failure to report within this period potentially leading to adverse consequences.
