MicroStrategy Buys 15,400 Bitcoins for $1.5 Billion, Total Holdings Exceed 400,000 BTC

MicroStrategy Inc. has acquired an additional 15,400 bitcoins for approximately $1.5 billion in cash, at an average price of about $95,976 per bitcoin. This purchase brings the company's total bitcoin holdings to 402,100 bitcoins, acquired at a total cost of approximately $23.4 billion and an average purchase price of $58,263 per bitcoin. With holdings now worth approximately $38.4 billion, MicroStrategy becomes the first public company to own over 400,000 bitcoins, representing about 1.9% of the total bitcoin supply. The company has been aggressively accumulating bitcoin, acquiring around 150,000 bitcoins in the last month. CEO Michael Saylor announced that the company has achieved a bitcoin yield of 38.7% quarter-to-date and 63.3% year-to-date.
