Jim Larranaga, the 75-year-old head coach of the University of Miami men's basketball team, is stepping down effective immediately, according to reports. Larranaga, who has amassed 744 career wins, has led Miami for 14 seasons and took the Hurricanes to the Final Four in 2023. He previously guided George Mason to a historic Final Four run in 2006. Miami is currently 4-8 this season, having lost eight of its last nine games. Bill Courtney will be promoted to head coach for the remainder of the season.
