Amazon and Meta Donate $1 Million Each to Trump's Inauguration; Amazon to Stream Event
Dec 13, 2024, 09:39 AM
Amazon and Meta Platforms Inc., the parent company of Facebook and Instagram, have each donated $1 million to President-elect Donald Trump's inaugural fund, company spokespeople confirmed. Amazon will also stream the inauguration event on its Prime Video service, an in-kind contribution valued at an additional $1 million. Previously, Amazon's contribution to Trump's first inauguration was $58,000 in cash and in-kind services, and both tech giants had not donated to President Biden's inauguration. The donations mark a significant gesture from the tech giants toward the incoming administration.
