Intel to Spin Off Intel Capital Into Standalone Fund in 2025, Retaining Anchor Investor Role
Jan 14, 2025, 09:47 PM
Intel Corp. has announced plans to spin off its venture capital arm, Intel Capital, into a standalone investment fund. This move aims to align Intel Capital's corporate structure with other leading venture firms, providing it with greater autonomy and the flexibility to attract external capital. Intel will remain an anchor investor in the new fund. The separation is expected to commence operations in the second half of 2025, at which point Intel Capital will operate under a new name. The existing Intel Capital team will transition to the new company, ensuring continuity in business operations throughout the process. Intel Capital, established in 1991, manages over $5 billion in assets and has invested more than $20 billion in over 1,800 companies across sectors including silicon, devices, and cloud.
