This new investment brings Google's total stake in Anthropic to over $3 billion, following an initial commitment of about $2 billion. Anthropic, a key competitor to OpenAI, is reportedly nearing a $60 billion valuation, with ongoing discussions for a further $2 billion funding round led by Lightspeed Venture Partners and other venture capitalists. The additional funding from Google is separate from this upcoming round.
