Trump Considers Downloading TikTok, Cites Youth Vote Win, Downplays National Security Concerns

President Donald Trump has expressed his intention to download TikTok onto his phone, citing the app's role in helping him win the youth vote in the recent election. Trump mentioned during a Q&A session following a Stargate announcement that he does not currently have TikTok on his phone but is considering adding it, stating, 'I think I might put it there. I think I'll get it right now.' He attributed his success with younger voters, claiming a 36-point lead, to his presence on TikTok. In a separate interview with Fox News, Trump downplayed concerns about the national security risks posed by TikTok, suggesting that the real threat comes from China's manufacturing of phones and computers. This statement comes days after Trump offered TikTok, owned by ByteDance, a reprieve from legislation that would have forced the app to shut down, giving ByteDance 75 days to sell the company and divest from U.S. operations.
