Chris Evans and Robert Downey Jr. are set to return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe in the upcoming film 'Avengers: Doomsday,' directed by Joe and Anthony Russo and scheduled for release on May 1, 2026. While the extent and nature of Evans's role remain unknown, Downey Jr. is confirmed to portray Doctor Doom. Anthony Mackie will reprise his role as Captain America. This marks the first time since 2019 that Evans and Downey Jr. will appear together in the MCU.
