President Joe Biden has announced that a state funeral will be held for former President Jimmy Carter, the 39th President of the United States, on January 9, 2025, at the Washington National Cathedral, which has also been declared a National Day of Mourning across the country. In honor of Carter, who passed away at the age of 100, Biden has ordered flags at all federal buildings, military installations, and U.S. facilities worldwide to be flown at half-staff for the next 30 days.
