Meta Platforms Inc. announced on January 6, 2025, the appointment of UFC CEO Dana White, Exor CEO John Elkann, and tech investor Charlie Songhurst to its board of directors. Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Meta, stated, “I'm excited to kick off the year with some news we've been working on for a while.” He emphasized that the new board members will “add a depth of expertise and perspective that will help us tackle the massive opportunities ahead with AI, wearables, and the future of social media.” Dana White expressed his enthusiasm, saying, “I’ve never been interested in joining a board of directors until I got the offer to join Meta’s board. I am a huge believer that social media and AI are the future. I am very excited to join this incredible team.” John Elkann, CEO of Exor and executive chairman of Ferrari, also joins the board, bringing international perspective and expertise.
