ISRO's SpaDeX Mission Marks India as Fourth Nation to Achieve Space Docking
Jan 19, 2025, 05:45 AM
India has achieved a significant milestone in space technology with the successful docking of two satellites as part of the Space Docking Experiment (SpaDeX) mission, conducted by the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO). The docking occurred on January 16, 2025, marking India as the fourth nation to accomplish this feat, following the United States, Russia, and China. The SpaDeX mission involved two satellites, SDX-01 and SDX-02, which successfully demonstrated the technology essential for future missions such as Chandrayaan-4, Gaganyaan, and the establishment of India's own space station. ISRO Chairman V Narayanan praised the team's efforts and highlighted the importance of the docking technology for multiple purposes in India's space endeavors.
