Tesla Recalls 694,304 Vehicles in U.S. Over Tire Pressure Issue, Offers Software Update
Dec 20, 2024, 12:30 PM
Tesla Inc. is recalling 694,304 vehicles in the U.S. due to a malfunction in the tire pressure monitoring system's warning light. The recall, announced by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), affects specific models including the 2024 Cybertruck, 2017-2025 Model 3, and 2020-2025 Model Y. The issue involves the warning light failing to remain illuminated between drive cycles, which could leave drivers unaware of low tire pressure, increasing the risk of a crash due to improperly inflated tires. Tesla plans to address the issue with a free software update. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed on February 15, 2025.
