Amad Diallo's 90th-Minute Goal Seals Manchester United's 2-1 Derby Win Over Manchester City
Dec 15, 2024, 06:39 PM
Manchester United staged a dramatic late comeback to defeat Manchester City 2-1 at the Etihad Stadium in the Premier League Manchester derby. Josko Gvardiol opened the scoring for City in the 36th minute, heading home his fourth goal of the season to give the hosts a 1-0 lead at halftime. United had a golden opportunity to equalize earlier, but Bruno Fernandes missed a clear chance. In the 88th minute, Fernandes redeemed himself by equalizing from the penalty spot after Ivorian forward Amad Diallo was fouled. Just two minutes later, Diallo scored the winning goal in the 90th minute, lifting the ball over goalkeeper Ederson to secure the victory for United. The defeat extends City's poor run of form to just one win and eight defeats in their last 11 matches in all competitions. Man City fans booed at the final whistle, and after the match, City manager Pep Guardiola admitted, 'I am not good enough. I am the boss. I have to find a solution. I am not doing well, that is the truth.'
