'Man of Steal' Rickey Henderson, MLB's All-Time Stolen Base Leader, Dies at 65

Rickey Henderson, Major League Baseball Hall of Famer and the all-time leader in stolen bases, has died at the age of 65 after a bout with pneumonia, just days before his 66th birthday. Nicknamed the 'Man of Steal,' Henderson was an Oakland native and is considered the greatest Oakland Athletics player of all time. He was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2009. Henderson is the Athletics’ all-time leader in runs scored (1,270), walks (1,227), and stolen bases (867). He was a 10-time All-Star and won the 1993 World Series with the Toronto Blue Jays. In 1982, he set the modern-era record for stolen bases in a season. Over his 25-year career, he played for nine teams.
