Microsoft Corp. plans to invest $80 billion in artificial intelligence (AI) data centers during the current fiscal year 2025, according to multiple reports. This significant expenditure underscores the company's commitment to expanding its AI infrastructure. The announcement comes amidst a broader trend where hyperscalers are estimated to have spent $222 billion on AI chips and data center infrastructure in the previous year. Microsoft's total capital expenditure estimate for calendar year 2025 is about $87.5 billion.
