Speaking at the World Economic Forum in Davos ahead of talks with Russia, Zelensky emphasized that European nations alone lack sufficient troops to deter Russian aggression, noting that Russia maintains a 1.5-million-strong army while Ukraine has half that number. He urged the inclusion of U.S. forces in any peacekeeping mission and appealed directly to U.S. President Donald Trump, declaring that ending the war should be a victory for Trump, not Russian President Vladimir Putin. Zelensky asserted that U.S. involvement is essential to ensure a robust and effective peacekeeping operation capable of preventing future conflict.
