SpaceX's 134th Launch of 2024 Sets Space Coast Record With Starlink 12-6 Mission

SpaceX successfully launched its final mission of 2024 on New Year's Eve, marking the 134th launch of the year for the company. The Starlink 12-6 mission lifted off at 12:39 a.m. EST from Launch Complex 39A at NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Florida, deploying 21 Starlink satellites, including 13 with direct-to-cell capability, into low-Earth orbit. This launch also contributed to a record-breaking year for the Space Coast, with a total of 93 launches from Florida, surpassing the previous annual record of 72 set in 2023. The Falcon 9 first stage booster used for this mission, B1078, completed its 16th flight and successfully landed on the droneship 'Just Read the Instructions' in the Atlantic Ocean.
