Jets Hire Broncos' Darren Mougey as GM to End 14-Year Playoff Drought
Jan 25, 2025, 10:10 PM
The New York Jets have officially appointed Darren Mougey as their new general manager, following a thorough search process. Mougey, previously the assistant general manager for the Denver Broncos where he spent 12 seasons, will work alongside head coach Aaron Glenn as the team aims to revitalize its organization. The 39-year-old, a native of Scottsdale, AZ, impressed in his in-person interviews with the Jets, culminating in a second interview this week. Mougey, who played college football at San Diego State, recording 66 catches, 805 yards, and 7 TDs over his final two seasons, also had training camp stints with the Falcons and Cardinals. In a statement, Mougey expressed his honor and excitement about joining the Jets, thanking Chairman Woody Johnson for the opportunity. The Jets' decision to hire Mougey comes as part of a broader effort to end the team's 14-year playoff drought, with Mougey tasked with building a championship team.
