President Trump's SEC Launches 'Crypto 2.0' Task Force Led by 'Crypto Mom' Hester Peirce to Develop Clear Crypto Regulations
Jan 21, 2025, 05:53 PM
Under the administration of President Donald Trump, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) Acting Chairman Mark T. Uyeda announced the formation of 'SEC Crypto 2.0,' a new Crypto Task Force dedicated to developing a comprehensive and clear regulatory framework for crypto assets. The task force will be led by Commissioner Hester Peirce, also known as 'Crypto Mom' for her pro-crypto stance and advocacy for clear regulations in the digital asset space. The initiative aims to establish clear guidelines, improve paths to registration, reduce reliance on enforcement actions, and collaborate with Commission staff and the public to set the SEC on a sensible regulatory path that respects the bounds of the law. Senior advisors Gabbert and Asher will serve as the task force's Chief of Staff and Chief Policy Advisor, respectively.
