SMU had tied the game with 16 seconds remaining, but Clemson's quick drive set up Hauser's game-winning kick. Hauser, a native of Cornelius, NC, and graduate of Hough High School, set an ACC Championship record for the longest field goal and delivered the first-ever walk-off play in the game's 20-year history.
