Russia Accuses US of Using Africa for Biological Labs and Experimental Drug Tests
Dec 24, 2024, 08:58 AM
Russia's Ministry of Defense has accused the United States of using Africa as a 'medical experiment site' and a 'natural reservoir for pathogens and dangerous infections.' Major General Aleksey Rtishev, Deputy Chief of Russia's Radiation, Chemical, and Biological Protection Troops, stated that the US military's biological presence in Africa is expanding rapidly. He claimed that diseases which the Pentagon focuses on often turn into pandemics, with American pharmaceutical companies benefiting. Rtishev also mentioned that the US has established biological labs in countries such as Ghana, Djibouti, Kenya, Nigeria, and Senegal, under the guise of providing medical assistance. He suggested that these activities lead to a loss of national sovereignty in biosecurity for the involved African nations and could degrade their healthcare systems. Additionally, Rtishev identified over 30 new participants in the US's alleged illegal military-biological activities in Africa and criticized the use of the continent for testing experimental drugs.
