Trump and GOP Pledge to Eliminate Daylight Saving Time, Calling It Costly and Inconvenient
Dec 13, 2024, 09:51 PM
President-elect Donald Trump announced on Friday that the Republican Party will use its best efforts to eliminate Daylight Saving Time in the United States. Calling the practice "inconvenient and very costly to our nation," Trump noted that although Daylight Saving Time has "a small but strong constituency," it "shouldn't." His Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) directors are also pushing for action on the matter. The move aims to end the biannual clock changes that have been criticized for causing disruptions and inefficiencies.
