Erin Elizabeth Ann Strotman Arrested for Alleged Abuse of 7 NICU Babies at Henrico Doctors' Hospital
Jan 3, 2025, 08:18 PM
Erin Elizabeth Ann Strotman, a 26-year-old registered nurse and former employee of Henrico Doctors' Hospital in Richmond, Virginia, has been arrested and charged with malicious wounding and felony child abuse. The charges stem from an investigation into incidents where seven babies in the hospital's neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) were found with 'unexplainable fractures.' The hospital discovered three babies with fractures in late November and December of 2024, following a similar incident involving four babies in the summer of 2023. As a result of these incidents, the hospital has suspended accepting new NICU babies and is conducting a thorough internal investigation. Henrico Police are re-examining the cases from both years as part of a broader investigation, reviewing video footage from inside the NICU. Strotman was booked into Henrico County Jail, and her nursing license, issued in 2019, remains valid until May 2026.
