Texans' Tank Dell Suffers Significant Knee Injury After Collision, Carted Off Against Chiefs
Dec 21, 2024, 08:12 PM
Houston Texans wide receiver Tank Dell suffered a significant knee injury during Saturday's game against the Kansas City Chiefs. The injury occurred in the third quarter when Dell made a 30-yard touchdown catch from quarterback C.J. Stroud but collided with teammate Jared Wayne in the end zone. After the play, Dell's left leg was immobilized in a vacuum splint, and he was carted off the field, later transported directly to the University of Kansas Medical Center for further evaluation. Head coach DeMeco Ryans described the injury as significant, and Dell is expected to stay overnight at the hospital in Kansas City. Teammates, including C.J. Stroud and Joe Mixon, were visibly emotional after the incident, with Stroud seen in tears. This marks the second consecutive season-ending injury for Dell, who suffered a broken leg last year. The team and fans are offering prayers and support for his recovery.
