Princess Kate Becomes Patron of Hospital Where She Received Cancer Treatment
Jan 14, 2025, 01:35 PM
Princess Kate Middleton, 43, visited the Royal Marsden Hospital in London, where she received cancer treatment last year, to thank the doctors and nurses who cared for her. This marked her first solo public engagement since completing chemotherapy. During her visit, she met with other patients undergoing treatment, offering words of encouragement such as "there's light at the end of the tunnel." She remarked, "It's nice to be walking through the front entrance, having done so many secret visits round the back." Kensington Palace stated that she wanted to show her gratitude to the incredible team and highlight the world-leading care and treatment the hospital provides. The Princess of Wales has also become the patron of the Royal Marsden Hospital, following in the footsteps of Princess Diana. Kate underwent preventative chemotherapy after major abdominal surgery a year ago revealed the presence of cancer.
