Joaquin Buckley, known as 'New Mansa', defeated Colby Covington via TKO due to a doctor's stoppage in the third round at UFC Tampa, the last main event of 2024. Both fighters had successfully made weight at 171 pounds, making the main event official. Buckley dominated the fight, causing a severe cut above Covington's right eye, which prompted the ringside doctor to stop the bout at 4:42 of Round 3. With this victory, Buckley improved his undefeated record at welterweight to 6-0 and capped off a remarkable year with his fourth consecutive win in 2024. He now has more KO/TKO wins than any other UFC fighter since 2020, with eight, and is being considered a top contender and Fighter of the Year candidate.
