Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva expressed his hope that U.S. President Donald Trump will have a fruitful term and that the United States will continue its historic partnership with Brazil. Speaking at the opening of the first ministerial meeting of the year on Monday, Lula emphasized his desire for peaceful relations and diplomacy, stating, "We don't want quarrels; we want peace." He stressed that diplomacy should be the most important aspect of international relations and not disagreements or conflicts. Lula added that Brazil seeks no conflicts with nations such as the United States, Venezuela, China, India, or Russia. His comments come as Trump is inaugurated for his second term as President of the United States.
