Japan Airlines Cyberattack Causes Delays in Domestic and International Flights, Halts Ticket Sales
Dec 26, 2024, 02:09 AM
Japan Airlines (JAL) announced that it has been hit by a cyberattack affecting its network equipment since 7:24 a.m. on Thursday, causing system malfunctions and delays in both domestic and international flights. The attack impacted reservation and baggage handling systems. As of 10 a.m., at least 14 domestic flights have been delayed by up to one hour, and the airline has suspended ticket sales for flights departing on the same day. JAL disconnected the affected router and is working to restore its systems and identify the attackers. Government officials have urged the airline to ensure a prompt recovery and minimize the impact on passengers.
